Every spring, the Milwaukee Art Museum hosts a stunning four-day flower festival, Art in Bloom. For the past eight years, regional florists and designers have created picturesque, dramatic, imaginative floral displays inspired by the vast variety of art housed by MAM. While the Collection Galleries are currently off display because of MAM’s renovation project, the featured exhibition–Inspiring Beauty, 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair–was the influential source. I’d been meaning to attend this event for years but never seemed to get myself over to it. This year, however, I finally did. It was a wonderful experience and a warming, colorful way to welcome the upcoming change of seasons.
